Friends Forced To Pay Php110,000 Each To Attend Bride's Wedding Overseas
The latest case of bridezilla isn't pretty...
Weddings are hugely fun and joyful but they’re also stressful events for the ones getting married. Getting all the finer details in check isn’t easy. And it isn’t cheap, either! But sometimes the whole ordeal can be too much for the to-be brides.
“I’m tempted to just elope and not let any of you be a part of our happiest day”
You know things aren’t going to end well when someone opens up with “At the risk of sounding entitled…”
A Reddit post found one bride who had to share her unhappiness with all her friends and their lack of commitment.
“When we invited our friends and family to our destination wedding in Thailand, only 9 people RSVPs. Out of 150!!!”
That’s quite sad to hear, at first. But what came next puts things slightly in context.
“I get it, paying for $3K to share my special day is too much for some of you”.
I had to double take after I read that sentence. This bride clearly thought $3k or Php162,000 was affordable for everyone to attend her destination wedding.
She does lower it to $2k and changes the destination to Hawaii after the poor response rate. But only seven people RSVP’d – likely from the same group of nine people who said they’d head to Thailand!
“It costs less but less of you wanna come?! Is that what you think of [fiance] and me? You can’t spare $2k to come share our happiness?”
The bride ultimatum
She leaves her message with a scathing remark in a last ditch attempt to get more people to attend.
“This is it guys you have 3 days to respond to our evites or were deleting you off FB and good luck keeping up with our lives then”.
If this wasn’t enough shock value, she leaves a fadeaway snide comment to end her post.
“And don’t get me started on the registry…Only the cheap stuff is gone. I swear I thought I had better friends”.
The Reddit users didn’t take too kindly to her forceful approach.
