Brunei is most well known for its oil and gas, with a small population of just over 400,000 citizens. It is also the fifth richest nation in the world.
The sovereign state is reigned by His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan Of Brunei Darussalam, Hassanal Bolkiah. He is also the head of government as prime minister of Brunei.
So it comes as no surprise that the family is deeply rooted in generations of wealth.
Brunei Prince Mateen is an Instagram celebrity
One of their crown princes, His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen, is not shy about sharing when it comes to his extravagant lifestyle.
His Instagram page, which boasts almost 750,000 followers, is a very public showcase of his love for flying helicopters, back-country skiing, polo, taking his leopard out for walks and fitness (with plenty of shirtless photos).
Brunei Prince Mateen is one of five sons and seven daughters in the immediate royal family, and is the tenth child.
A lot of his posts show his affection for his siblings…
But when he isn’t spending time with his family at home, he is off flying helicopters…
Looking fly AF in uniform…
Playing with all our hearts when he plays polo…
And slicing through the powdery slopes of Niseko like a pro.
But when he isn’t doing princely things like those, he’s just like you and me, taking his pet out for a walk, for instance. Except maybe most of us don’t have exotic predators for house cats…
Perfecting his meat-grilling skills.
And picking up the guitar for a little jam session on the weekend.
Just another reminder, ladies. He’s quite the eligible bachelor.
