Every once in a while, it’s important to take stock of your life and understand where you stand in this beautiful journey that you are on.
It’s very easy to get stuck in the trappings of daily life, to feel as though life’s just passing you by without much coming out of it.
There are times you may not feel aligned with your core and realise that you are just going ahead with no purpose or goal in place. That’s when you need to pause and take a break. You need to understand what’s going on and where you are headed.
You need to press that REFRESH button and look at things with new vigour and vitality. It’s important to revive and motivate yourself ever so often to ensure that you are on the right track and on the way to your goals that are aligned with your values.
Use these 8 questions to help you and get the spark and energy back in your life if you’re feeling burned out:
1. Are some people in your life pulling you down instead of letting you soar higher?
This is one of the most important questions to ask. We are very affected by the people in our lives and knowingly or unknowingly they influence the decisions we make and how we run our lives. Take note to understand if some people in your life are in the way of your happiness and success.
2. What do you need to clear up in your life so you can move forward?
Are you living with excess baggage without even realising it? Let go of it. You need to clear out the mess to move forward.
3. In which areas of your life do you need a breath of fresh air?
Think about your health, family, career, finances, personal growth, social life and relationships. How are they doing? For those that are not doing too well, focus on those areas to improve your life.
4. Where are the cobwebs that you need to sweep away to see the cleaner part of yourself?
Have you been pushing stuff under the carpet for way too long? It’s time to clean those cobwebs now. Face those fears and let them go. The more you hide them the bigger they get.
5. What is cluttering your mind and needs a mental spring clean?
Are you holding onto stuff that is taking up space instead of allowing your mind to be free? When you clutter your mind, it leaves no room for any of the good memories and positive feelings. Start de-cluttering soon to ensure you have space for the good stuff.
6. What is cluttering your home/environment and needs a physical spring clean?
This literally implies checking in on your surrounding environment and doing a physical sweep. Get rid of the excess garbage that is occupying space in the personal and professional areas of your life. Some who have read Marie Kondo’s book on The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up say that their lives have totally changed after the simple (or not so simple) act of de-cluttering their homes.
7. What do you need to do to revive your thought process to make it positive and constructive?
Remind yourself of a time when you were very happy and content. Meditate on it. Dig deeper and think how you felt — what were your emotions? Allow yourself to let that positivity envelope you. This will act as a trigger to move your being into the positive and constructive space.
8. What is DRAINING you out of your energy? List them down.
Make a list of all the factors in your life that are making you feel negative or low. Listing them will help you create awareness about them. The next step will then be to accept the situation and deal with it in whichever way you deem fit to help you rid them from your life.
The idea of these questions is to get you thinking about the various aspects of your life, looking at them from a new angle, absorbing what’s going on and making a few changes to help you get back on track, HAPPIER and more SATISFIED!
In order to succeed and move forward in any sphere of your life, you need awareness of what is going on. Very often, we run through our lives completely unaware and in a state of blissful ignorance. You, therefore need to pause and ensure that you understand what’s really going on within you.
