What are the most expensive shoes displayed made of?
Why are they so expensive? The shoes are made of:
- rare pink and blue diamonds which cost more than US$13 million
- four 3-carat pure white diamonds
- 1000 pointer diamonds
- solid gold zippers and plaque under the shoes
- leather painted with 24-carat gold paint sewed with 18-carat gold thread
- Arabian Jasmin flowers made from leather
- gold thread embellished inlay
The shoes took hundreds of hours to assemble and were made by Florida-based contemporary artist Chris Campbell.
Wingham also designed the most expensive piece of clothing ever created. In 2013, she designed the Red Diamond Abaya dress, which cost US$17.6 million (S$23.3 million).
In 2015, she designed a US$75 million (S$99.4 million) cake. The six-foot-long cake was made to look like a runway fashion show, and weighed nearly 1,000 pounds. It took over 1,100 hours to make, and was adorned with 4,000 diamonds worth over US$45 million (S$59.7 million)— this included a 5.2-carat pink diamond, a 6.4-carat yellow diamond, and 15 5-carat white diamonds.
Earlier this year, she also designed a US$1 million cake that was designed to look like a life-sized Arabian bride.
