Here are some weird money facts that you probably would have never heard of before.
However, we'll leave you with this little nugget of information. The $200 you would collect every time you pass Go! is now worth about $3,500 if you factor in inflation, compared to 1935 when the game was first released.
The global gambling market gross gaming yield was at US$465 billion in 2017 and is expected to grow to US$495 billion in 2019.
US authorities estimate that North Korea has manufactured over $45 million worth of notes almost indistinguishable from genuine bills since the late 1980s.
But the upside of polymer notes is that they are waterproof and last longer (thus, the need to produce more notes is lessened in the long run). Plus, polymer notes are able to incorporate many security features that paper banknotes are not able to!
It also comes with new security features to prevent counterfeiting. The security features include a customised electromagnetic signature (EMS), a bi-metallic composition and laser mark micro-engraving of the Vanda Miss Joaquim, the national flower of Singapore.
His son, Sebastian Marroquin, also claimed that his father once torched $2 million in crisp banknotes in order to keep his family warm while they were on the run.
